Hohhot, referred to as "Huhhot", formerly known as "Guisui City", is the capital of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. Hohhot is a Mongolian transliteration, meaning "blue city". 1. Dazhao Temple
Dazhao Temple, located in Dazhao Front Street, Yuquan District, Hohhot City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, China, is the earliest Lamaist temple built in Hohhot, and is also the center of Tibetan Buddhism in Inner Mongolia and one of the most famous Buddhist temples in northern China. Dazhao Temple is called "Yikezhao" in Mongolian, which means "big temple". Its Chinese name was originally "Hongci Temple", and later changed to "Wuliang Temple". Because there is a silver Buddha enshrined in the temple, it is also called "Silver Buddha Temple".
2. Chilechuan Grassland
Chilechuan Grassland, formerly known as the Huhetala Grassland, is located near the Inner Mongolia Minority Mass Culture and Sports Center in Xincheng District, Hohhot City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. It is a natural ecological grassland tourist attraction that integrates grassland protection, restoration, culture, sightseeing, leisure and other multifunctional activities. 3. Five Pagoda Temple
Five Pagoda Temple is located in the southeast of the old city of Hohhot. It was originally named Vajra Seat Relic Pagoda. Because there are five square relic pagodas on the pagoda seat, it is named Five Pagoda Temple. The Five Pagoda Temple is about 16 meters high and the tower body is built with glazed bricks. The lower layer of the tower body is engraved with the Diamond Sutra, and the upper layer is inlaid with thousands of gilded small Buddhas, which are exquisitely carved and exquisite. Five Pagoda Temple is not only a Buddhist building, but also integrates the three religious cultures of Han, Tibetan and Mongolian. It is an outstanding representative of ancient Chinese architectural art.
4. Saishang Old Street
Saishang Old Street is located in the Dazhao Historical and Cultural Tourism Zone in Yuquan District, Hohhot City. It is a commercial street with a history of more than 100 years. The entire street retains the architectural style of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It is 380 meters long and is known as the epitome of the old Hohhot. This is the fourth scene of the famous "Sixteen Scenes of Qingcheng" "Saishang Old Street". Saishang Old Street is one of the historical and cultural blocks in Hohhot and the first batch of national night culture and tourism consumption clusters.
5. Xilituzhao Temple
Xilituzhao Temple, located in Yuquan District, Hohhot City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, is a Tibetan Buddhist temple with a long history and large scale. It is not only one of the largest temples in Hohhot City, but also an important religious and cultural landmark in Inner Mongolia. Xilituzhao Temple is Mongolian, meaning "chief" or "seat of the law". Its Chinese name is "Yanshou Temple". The temple got its name because the first Xilituzhao Living Buddha, the teacher of the fourth Dalai Lama, presided over the temple for a long time.
6. Grand Mosque
Hohhot Grand Mosque, located at No. 28 Tongdao South Street, Huimin District, Hohhot City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, was built in the 32nd year of Emperor Kangxi's reign in the Qing Dynasty (1693). It is the earliest and largest mosque in Hohhot. The Grand Mosque is not only a religious building, but also a manifestation of the cultural diversity of the Chinese nation, integrating Han, Islamic and even Western elements, showing extremely high artistic value.
7. Zhaojun Museum
The Zhaojun Museum is located in Yuquan District, Hohhot City. It is a site-based museum based on the Xiongnu History Museum and the Ancient Chinese Marriage Culture Museum, and supported by the site of Wang Zhaojun's Tomb, a national key cultural relic protection unit. It is also a public cultural space with the story of Zhaojun's departure for the frontier and a series of memorial facilities in Wang Zhaojun's Tomb as its main body, integrating research, collection, protection, interpretation, display and tour. It is the first special museum to comprehensively display the stories of exchanges and integration among various ethnic groups represented by Zhaojun's departure for the frontier.
8. Islamic Style Street
Located in the Huimin District of Hohhot, the Islamic Style Street is a characteristic landscape street full of Islamic cultural atmosphere. The buildings on both sides of the street are decorated with stacked arches, domes and colored glazed bricks, showing a magnificent momentum and rich style. There are not only religious and historical buildings such as the Grand Mosque and the Ulanhu Memorial Hall, but also modern commercial facilities such as the Aiboyihe Palace and Jiupeng Commercial Building.
9. Qingcheng Park
Qingcheng Park was first built in 1931. It was originally called "Longquan Park" because it was built with Wolonggang and Laolongtan as its main attractions. Qingcheng Park has a total area of 46 hectares. It is a comprehensive cultural and leisure park integrating garden landscape, human history, leisure and entertainment, and fitness. The park is full of towering willows, colorful flowers, and singing birds. It is one of the main tourist attractions in the city and a natural "green lung" in the main urban area of Hohhot.
10. lnner Mongolia Museum
The Inner Mongolia Museum is located on Xinhua Street, Xincheng District, Hohhot, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The building area of the exhibition hall is 64,000 square meters, and the exhibition area is 15,000 square meters. It is the largest comprehensive museum in the region that integrates collection, protection, research, display, education and service. It is also the first national first-class museum in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The Inner Mongolia Museum currently has more than 150,000 pieces of collections, covering historical relics from the Paleolithic Age to the Ming and Qing Dynasties, modern and contemporary revolutionary relics, ethnic folk relics, paleontological fossils and modern biological specimens.
