Xining City, formerly known as Qingtang City, Xiping County, Shanzhou, also known as the Summer Capital, is a prefecture-level city and provincial capital under the jurisdiction of Qinghai Province, and an important central city in Northwest China. Xining City is the eastern gateway to the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, a must-pass place for the ancient "Silk Road" South Route and the "Tang-Tibet Ancient Road". It has been a major transportation route and military stronghold in the northwest since ancient times. It is known as the "Key to the West Sea" and the throat of Tibet. It is one of the world's high-altitude cities and the political, economic, scientific, educational, cultural, transportation and communication center of Qinghai Province.

1. Kumbum Monastery
Kumbum Monastery, also known as Taer Monastery, is located in Huangzhong District, Xining City, Qinghai Province. It was founded in the 12th year of the Hongwu reign of the Ming Dynasty (1379). It was named after the large silver pagoda built in the Dajinwa Temple to commemorate Tsongkhapa, the founder of the Yellow Sect. It is called "Gunbenxianbalin" in Tibetan, which means "Maitreya Temple with 100,000 Lion Roaring Buddha Statues". Kumbum Monastery is the activity center of Tibetan Buddhism in Northwest China. It enjoys a high reputation in China and Southeast Asia. The central government of all dynasties has highly respected the religious status of Kumbum Monastery.
2. Dongguan Mosque
Dongguan Mosque, commonly known as Camel Mosque, is located at No. 31 Dongguan Street, Chengdong District, Xining City, Qinghai Province. It was built in the 20th year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty (1380) and is one of the five main mosques of Islam in China. Dongguan Mosque, an ancient building that condenses the wisdom and friendship of the Hehuang Hui, Salar, Han, Tibetan and Tu ethnic groups, has architectural components and decorations that are integrated with the overall layout of the mosque. It is a historical witness to the harmonious coexistence, unity and friendship of various religions in China.
3. Riyue Mountain
Riyue Mountain is located 40 kilometers southwest of Huangyuan County, Xining City, Qinghai Province. It is located on the boundary between China's monsoon and non-monsoon regions. It is located in the overlapping area of the Loess Plateau and the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. It is the natural boundary between the inner and outer basins of Qinghai Province, dividing the agricultural civilization and the nomadic civilization. Riyue Mountain has been an important passage in the history of "Qiangzhong Road", "Southern Silk Road" and "Tang-Tibetan Ancient Road". As early as the Han, Wei, Jin, Sui and Tang dynasties, it was the outpost and barrier of the Central Plains Dynasty. Therefore, it is known as the "Western Sea Screen" and "Grassland Gateway".
4. Qinghai Provincial Museum
Qinghai Provincial Museum is located on the east side of Xinning Square in Chengxi District, Xining City. It is the first large-scale comprehensive museum with modern functions in Qinghai. It is an important historical and cultural heritage of Qinghai Province and an important cultural and educational base of Qinghai Province. The museum aims to "display Qinghai history, inherit culture, and promote national spirit" and is committed to displaying Qinghai's history, culture, historical relics and ethnic customs.
5. Xining People's Park
Xining People's Park is located on the bank of Huangshui River on the north side of Shengli Road in Xining City, with a total area of 36 hectares. It is currently the largest comprehensive park in Xining City, a national AAA-level tourist attraction, and now a four-star park in Xining City. Xining People's Park is a comprehensive park integrating gardening, culture, cultural relics protection, patriotism education, leisure and entertainment. It is also the largest public amusement park in Xining City and ranks first among the new eight scenic spots in Xining.
6. Dangar Ancient Town
Dangar Ancient Town is the Mongolian transliteration of the Tibetan word "Dongkor", which means "white conch". It was first built during the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty and has a history of more than 600 years. Since the Western Han Dynasty, it has gradually become an important town where multiple cultures such as commerce, military, religion, and folk customs have been integrated. It is known as the "throat of the sea and Tibet", "tea and horse trading capital", and "Little Beijing". The ancient city of Dangar has been selected as "China's most folk cultural tourist destination", "national AAAA-level tourist attraction", "one of the eight scenic spots in Xining", "the most beautiful street in Xining" and "safe scenic spot".
7. Qinghai Tibetan Culture Museum
Qinghai Tibetan Culture Museum is located in the Science and Technology Biological Industrial Park of Xining City, Qinghai Province. It is the only comprehensive, all-round and open national first-class museum in the world that fully collects, protects, displays, studies, educates and inherits Tibetan culture. The museum was established in 2006 with a total construction area of 12,000 square meters. It is a model of Qinghai Province's opening up to the outside world and national unity and progress. The museum is not only a platform for displaying Tibetan culture, but also undertakes the important tasks of education and inheritance.
8. Mojia Street
Mojia Street is located on the south side of East Street in the center of Xining City, opposite to Yinma Street. It is one of the oldest streets in Xining, with a history of 600 years. Mojia Street was first built in the late Ming Dynasty and early Qing Dynasty. It originated from the folk legend that Mo Huaigu, an official of the Ministry of Rites in Kyoto, was demoted to Xining to build Mojia Temple because he had hidden rare treasures. Mojia Street was not only a famous food street in Xining, but also a pedestrian street integrating Qinghai specialties and farmers' markets.
9. Xining Wildlife Park
Xining Wildlife Park, also known as Qinghai Wildlife Rescue and Breeding Center and Qinghai-Tibet Plateau Wildlife Park, is located at No. 9 Xingzhi Road, Chengxi District, Xining City, Qinghai Province, covering an area of 1,500 acres. It is the only large-scale comprehensive wildlife park with the highest altitude on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. It is a national science education base integrating wildlife viewing, protection, scientific research, breeding, and popular science education.
10. Master mountain
Master mountain is located on the bank of Beichuan River on the east side of Qiaotou Town, Datong County. It is a major mountain in the central part of Datong, covering an area of about 2.5 square kilometers. Because there was a Taiyuan Palace (i.e. Guandi Temple) on the top of the mountain, it is commonly known as "Master mountain", also known as "Yuanshuo Mountain" and "Northern Wudang". It is the most majestic and beautiful mountain near Xining. The Master mountain Scenic Area has become a great place for tourism and summer vacation due to its well-preserved natural features and unique cultural landscapes, and is listed as one of the nine major tourist areas in Qinghai Province.
