The Eiffel Tower stands on the Champ de Mars in Paris, France, next to the Seine River. In order to hold the 1889 World Expo to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the victory of the French Revolution, the French government launched a construction tender and finally decided on the Eiffel Tower. Its construction began on January 26, 1887 and was completed on March 31, 1889, becoming the tallest building in the world at that time.
Main buildings:
1. The Square
The square offers a view of the tower, where you can feel the subtlety of the iron structure. There is a bust of Eiffel, a service and ticket center about the Eiffel Tower, and an elevator machine from 1899. The names of 72 scientists who have contributed to the protection of the tower are engraved on the four corners of the Eiffel Tower.
2. The first floor
The first floor has a new interactive course designed for children, where you can learn the history of the tower for free. There is an exploration path in the external corridor, with screens, touch screens, windows, digital photo albums, replicas of objects and other aspects of the Eiffel Tower. The first floor also provides a place to rest. The Gustave Eiffel Lounge can host various types of professional events between 9:30 am and 1:00 am, accommodating up to 300 people and equipped with professional equipment. The spiral staircase that was demolished in 1983 can be seen on the first floor.
3. Second Floor
On the second floor, you can see all the monuments in Paris: the Louvre, Notre Dame, the Grand Palais and other buildings. There are Jules Verne restaurant, buffet, macaron bar and two shops.
4. Top Floor
On the top floor, there is a reconstructed office of Gustave Eiffel, in which there is a phonograph donated by Edison. There is a panoramic direction sign on the top of the tower, where you can see the distance to major cities in the world. The top floor also has a model of the top of the tower in 1889, made at a scale of 1:50 and painted in the original color of the tower, "reddish brown". There is a champagne bar on the top floor.
5. Garden
A free garden was designed next to the Eiffel Tower, making it an independent space in the "Eiffel Tower Experience". In the garden, you can enter the square and then enter the Eiffel Tower. The garden's reconstruction project was completed in 2018. There are more than 60 tree species in the garden, including weeping willows, cedars, horse chestnuts, 20,000 shrubs, and 2,000 perennial plants suitable for all seasons. There is also a sycamore tree planted in 1814.
