  Zhengzhou, referred to as "Zheng", was called Shangdu in ancient times and is now called Green City. It is a prefecture-level city, provincial capital, megacity, and national central city under the jurisdiction of Henan Province. It is located in the central region of China, in the north-central part of Henan Province, and at the boundary between the middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River. Zhengzhou has been a capital since ancient times. As one of the important birthplaces of the Chinese nation and Chinese civilization, it has gone through thousands of years and has rich historical and cultural relics.

  Main attractions:

  1. Shaolin Temple

  Shaolin Temple, located in Dengfeng City, Zhengzhou City, Henan Province, China, was first built in the 19th year of the Northern Wei Dynasty (495 AD). It was built by Emperor Xiaowen to accommodate the Indian monk Batuo to preach. It is named "Shaolin Temple" because it is located in the dense forest of Shaoshi Mountain in the hinterland of Songshan Mountain. Shaolin Temple is not only the birthplace of Zen Buddhism, but also the birthplace of Chinese Kung Fu. It is known as the "ancestral home of Zen Buddhism and the holy land of Kung Fu" and is praised as "the most famous temple in the world".

  2. The Yellow River Scenic Area of Zhengzhou

  The Yellow River Scenic Area of Zhengzhou is located on the bank of the Yellow River, 20 kilometers northwest of Zhengzhou, the capital of Henan Province. It is backed by Yueshan Mountain in the south and faces the Yellow River in the north. After forty years of development and construction, it has now opened up an area of more than 20 square kilometers, forming a large scenic area integrating sightseeing, leisure and vacation, science education, root-seeking and ancestor worship, and the promotion of Chinese civilization, attracting millions of Chinese and foreign tourists every year.

  3. Henan Museum

  Henan Museum is located at No. 8 Nongye Road, Jinshui District, Zhengzhou City, Henan Province, China. It is one of the earliest museums in my country. It was founded in 1927 and officially opened to the public in 1998. Henan Museum covers an area of more than 100,000 square meters, with a construction area of 78,000 square meters. It has a collection of more than 170,000 cultural relics, with prehistoric cultural relics, Shang and Zhou bronzes, ceramics from various dynasties, jades and stone carvings being the most distinctive.

  4. Yellow Emperor’s Native Place Scenic Spot

  Yellow Emperor’s Native Place Scenic Spot is located at No. 1 Xuanyuan Road, Xinzheng City, Zhengzhou City, Henan Province. It is the home of the Xiong clan recorded in the Han Dynasty history books, so it is the ruins of the Xiong Kingdom. Yellow Emperor’s Native Place Scenic Spot is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction, a national key cultural relic protection unit and a patriotic education base of the National Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese. It is also a holy place for the descendants of Yan and Huang at home and abroad to trace their roots and worship their ancestors.

  5. Green Expo Park

  Zhengzhou Green Expo Park, a national AAAA-level tourist attraction, is an ecological garden that integrates ecological leisure, nature education, and parent-child entertainment. It is a good place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city, encounter the beauty of ecology, and explore the wonders of nature! Zhengzhou Green Expo Park is the main venue of the Second China Green Expo. It opened on September 26, 2010 and successfully established a national AAAA-level tourist attraction at the end of 2012. The park brings together nearly 100 high-quality garden landscapes from different regions at home and abroad.

  6. Zhengzhou Fantawild Adventure

  Located in Zhengzhou New District, Zhengzhou City, Zhengzhou Fantawild Adventure is a cultural and technological theme park with high technology as its main form of expression, science fiction and interactive experience as its characteristics, and advanced technology and conception as its concept. The park projects cover modern technology, science fiction, myths and legends, historical and cultural theme performances, etc., with novel forms and rich content to meet the needs of tourists of different ages.

  7. Songyang Academy

  Songyang Academy is located in the northern section of Songyang Road in Dengfeng City. It is a 4A-level scenic spot and a world cultural heritage. It is one of the four major academies in the Northern Song Dynasty in China. Sima Guang, Fan Zhongyan, Zhu Xi, etc. wrote and lectured here. Cheng Hao and Cheng Yi, famous Confucian scholars in the Song Dynasty, founded the "Er-Cheng Neo-Confucianism" here, and became world-famous for Neo-Confucianism. The existing buildings include the Xiansheng Temple, Lecture Hall, Panchi, Daotong Temple, and Library.

  8. Fuxi Valley

  Fuxi Valley is the nearest red sandstone canyon to Zhengzhou City, with a total length of 5 kilometers. The canyon not only has natural waterfalls, but also contains the essence of the dragon culture and Yi culture unique to the Chinese nation. Walking under the cliff corridor and wandering among the mountains and rivers, you will see a variety of natural geological wonders; winding paths lead to secluded places, and the scenery changes with every step, and the cultural relics of Fuxi and Nuwa are everywhere.

  9. Erqi Memorial Tower

  The Zhengzhou Erqi Memorial Tower, full name "Zhengzhou Erqi Strike Memorial Tower", was built in 1971 and is located in Erqi Square in the center of Zhengzhou. It is located at the place where the leaders of the Zhengzhou railway workers, Wang Shengyou and Si Wende, died. It is a memorial building built to commemorate the Beijing-Hankou Railway Workers' Movement in 1923 and is also a landmark building in Zhengzhou.

  10. Zhongyue Temple

  Zhongyue Temple is located in the eastern section of Shaolin Avenue in Dengfeng City. It is the birthplace of Taoism in China and the largest and best-preserved Taoist temple among the Five Sacred Mountains. It was first built in the Qin Dynasty and now has more than 400 buildings, more than 200 gold and stone castings, and more than 300 ancient cypresses. It is a national key cultural relic protection unit and a world cultural heritage. The "Zhongyue Songgao Lingmiao Stele" in the temple is the ancestor of the stele erected by Chinese Taoism.
