  Located at the southern foot of Zhongmao Peak in Zhongshan Mountain, the Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum is the mausoleum of Mr. Sun Yat-sen, the great pioneer of the democratic revolution. The construction of the mausoleum started in January 1926, the main building was completed in the spring of 1929, and the enshrinement ceremony was held on June 1 of the same year. After that, the project continued until it was completed by the end of 1931. The Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum covers an area of 2,000 acres, built on the mountain, facing the plain in front and the green peaks in the back. It is magnificent and has a "Liberty Bell" shape. The mausoleum building is symmetrical along the central axis. From the memorial archway, tomb passage, mausoleum gate, stele pavilion to the sacrificial hall and tomb chamber, the horizontal distance is 700 meters, the height difference is 70 meters, there are 392 stone steps and 10 platforms, all of which are constructed with white granite and reinforced concrete, covered with blue glass tiles. The Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum was listed as the first batch of key cultural relics protection units in the country, and was selected into the "First Batch of Chinese 20th Century Architectural Heritage" list. It took 32 years to complete the construction of the "Shenggong Shengde Monument of the Great Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum" in 1413. Today, the Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum Scenic Area is mainly composed of the Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum Palace Area, including the Dajinmen, Sifangcheng, Shendao and other ancillary facilities, as well as the surrounding Xiamafang, Meihua Valley, Meihua Mountain, Ming Dongling, Zixia Lake and other scenic spots. Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum was listed as the first batch of key cultural relics protection units in the country. On July 3, 2003, the 27th session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee approved the inclusion of Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum as an extension of the royal mausoleums of the Ming and Qing Dynasties in the World Heritage List.
