The Tianjin Museum is located in the courtyard of the Xu family, a traditional residence. It was originally the home of Xu Pu'an, the comprador of the British businessman Tianjin Macquarie Company, and was built in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China. It adopts the small style of Chinese architecture, with blue bricks and a hard top. The overall building faces north and south, with the Qianzhai Xunmen gate. The central axis consists of three sets of courtyards, and there are arrow paths on the east and west sides. Its architectural carvings are elegant and exquisite, and it is the only well-preserved typical traditional residence with three-in-one and four-in-one courtyards in Tianjin. The museum has witnessed the city's 600 years of ups and downs and preserved the rich historical and cultural heritage of Tianjin Wei; it created and developed the city's civilization and progress, and left behind precious historical and cultural masterpieces. It has become a link for people to remember their past objects and connect their families.
