Humble Administrator's Garden, located in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, is one of the four famous gardens in China and the largest existing classical garden in Suzhou. Humble Administrator's Garden was first built in the fourth year of Zhengde in the Ming Dynasty (1509). It was built by Wang Xianchen, the censor, after he resigned from his post and returned to his hometown. It was built on the site of Lu Guimeng's residence in the Tang Dynasty and the site of Dahong Temple in the Yuan Dynasty. The name of the garden comes from the sentence "This is also the governance of the clumsy" in Pan Yue's "Idleness Fu" in the Western Jin Dynasty. The garden wins with waterscape and maintains the sparse and elegant ancient style of Ming Dynasty gardens.
