  Chengdu, known as the City of Hibiscus and the City of Brocade, is situated in Western China and is the capital of Sichuan Province, a national central city, and a world-recognized cultural city. Credited as the “Land of Abundance”, it has an urban civilization of more than 4500 years and a history as a city of more than 2300 years. Serving as the starting point of the Ancient Southern Silk Road and the pivotal place of the “Belt and Road Initiative”, Chengdu emerges as an international gateway hub that connects to the New Eurasian Land Bridge linking the Pacific and the Atlantic.

  Famous for “becoming a community in one year, a town in two years, and a city in three years”, Chengdu is surrounded by the pristine natural landscape and immersed with the splendid culture. It was praised as the “powerful metropolis” by Marco Polo, a Venetian merchant, and the “Oriental Paris” by Goodall, a French traveler.

  1. Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding

  The Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding (hereinafter referred to as the Panda Base), located at 1375# Panda Avenue, Chenghua District, Chengdu City, is 10 km away from the city center (Tianfu Square), about 30 km from Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport and about 70 km from Tianfu International Airport. Proclaimed the ecological demonstration project for giant panda ex-situ conservation, the Panda Base, covering an area of 3.07 square kilometers, serves as the world’s preeminent institution for giant panda ex-situ conservation, scientific research and breeding, popular science education, and cultural tourism. The Panda Base wears its title as the sanctuary for giant pandas, red pandas, and other endangered wild animals exclusive to China with pride. The scenery is breathtaking: trees cover the slopes as crystal clear rivers wind down the hills. Forests line the paths, nesting birds that sing their sweet melodies.

  2. Wuhou Shrine

  Wuhou Shrine, located at No. 231 Wuhou Shrine Street, Wuhou District, Chengdu, Sichuan Province, was built in the first year of Zhangwu in the Shu Han Dynasty (221 AD). It was originally a temple dedicated to Zhuge Liang, also known as Kongming Temple, Zhuge Temple, Prime Minister Temple, etc., and later merged into a temple dedicated to the emperor and his ministers. Wuhou Shrine covers an area of 150,000 square meters. It is a carrier of people's affirmation and praise for the spirit of Zhuge Liang, the prime minister of Shu Han, who "devoted himself to the country until his death". It is also the source of the Three Kingdoms relics. It consists of four parts: Han Zhaolie Temple, Wuhou Shrine, Huiling, and Sanyi Temple. It belongs to the cultural heritage protection area of Chengdu Wuhou Shrine Museum.

  3. Jinli Ancient Street

  Jinli Ancient Street is located in Wuhou District, Chengdu. Its history can be traced back to the Western Han Dynasty. It is said that there was a workshop on this ancient street that specialized in weaving brocade for the imperial court, hence the name "Jinli". Jinli Ancient Street is an ancient street that integrates history, culture, scenery and food. It is also the most beautiful ancient street in Chengdu. It has a long history, a deep memory of the Three Kingdoms culture, beautiful natural scenery and rich food. Visitors can feel the fusion of tradition and modernity here.

  4. Du Fu Thatched

  Du Fu Thatched is the former residence of Du Fu, a great poet of the Tang Dynasty, when he lived in Chengdu. It is located at No. 37 Qinghua Road, Qingyang District, Chengdu City, Sichuan Province. Du Fu lived here for nearly four years and wrote more than 240 poems. Wei Zhuang, a poet in the late Tang Dynasty, found the ruins of the thatched cottage and rebuilt it to preserve it. It was renovated and expanded in the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties. Du Fu Thatched was renovated and expanded in the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties. It has evolved into a famous cultural holy place that integrates the layout of a memorial ancestral hall and the style of the poet's former residence. The architecture is simple and elegant, and the garden is quiet and beautiful. The Thatched Cottage completely retains the layout of the reconstruction during the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty. It is a unique "hybrid" Chinese classical garden.

  5. Kuanzhai Alley

  Kuanzhai Alley is located near Changshun Street, Qingyang District, Chengdu, Sichuan Province. It consists of Kuanxiang, Zhaixiang and Jingxiang arranged in parallel. It is an antique courtyard with indigo bricks and tiles. It is also a relatively large-scale ancient street from the Qing Dynasty in Chengdu. Together with Daci Temple and Wenshu Monastery, it is known as one of the three major historical and cultural city protection blocks in Chengdu. Today, Kuanzhai Alley has become a tourist destination integrating history and culture, food, leisure and entertainment.

  6. Wenshu Monastery

  Wenshu Monastery, also known as "Konglin Hall", is located at No. 66 Wenshu Monastery Street, Qingyang District, Chengdu City, Sichuan Province, covering an area of more than 200,000 square meters. Wenshu Monastery is one of the key Buddhist temples in China designated by the State Council, the first of the four major Zen temples in the upper and lower reaches of the Yangtze River in China, and a key cultural relic protection unit in Sichuan Province; it is a Buddhist holy place that integrates Zen temple holy sites, ancient gardens, pilgrimage sightseeing, and religious learning.

  7. Mount Qingcheng

  Mount Qingcheng is located in the southwest of Dujiangyan City, Chengdu City, Sichuan Province. It is the main scenic spot of Mount Qingcheng-Dujiangyan, a world cultural heritage, a national key cultural relic protection unit, a national key scenic spot, a national AAAAA-level tourist attraction, the holy land of Quanzhen Longmen Sect, one of the ten great caves, one of the four famous Taoist mountains in China, one of the five immortal mountains, and one of the ten scenic spots in Chengdu. Mount Qingcheng is also known as "Qingcheng is the most secluded in the world" and is famous for its quiet and beautiful natural scenery and profound Taoist cultural heritage.

  8. Dujiangyan

  Dujiangyan, located in the west of Dujiangyan City, Chengdu, Sichuan Province, sits on the Minjiang River in the west of Chengdu Plain. It is a huge engineering system consisting of the canal head hub, water diversion channels at all levels in the irrigation area, various engineering buildings, large, medium and small reservoirs and ponds, etc. The canal head covers an area of more than 200 acres. Dujiangyan is the oldest and only remaining large-scale water conservancy project in the world today, characterized by damless water diversion. Dujiangyan is a world cultural heritage, an important part of the world natural heritage, a world irrigation engineering heritage, a national key cultural relic protection unit, a national scenic spot, and a national AAAAA-level tourist attraction.

  9. Jinsha Site Museum

  Chengdu Jinsha Site Museum, located at No. 2 Jinsha Site Road, Qingyang District, Chengdu, Sichuan Province, was established in April 2007, covering an area of 300,000 square meters and a total construction area of about 40,000 square meters. It is an archaeological museum and a national first-class museum built to protect, study and display Jinsha culture and ancient Shu civilization. The two main buildings of Jinsha Site Museum, the Relics Hall and the Exhibition Hall, are located on the north and south banks of the Modi River respectively. They are one square and one round, combining rigidity and flexibility, complementing each other, and have become important landmark buildings in Chengdu.

  10. Xiling Snow Mountain

  Xiling Snow Mountain is located in Dayi County, Chengdu City, Sichuan Province, only 110 kilometers away from Chengdu, and can be reached by car in 2.5 hours. The total area of the scenic area is 483 square kilometers, with an altitude ranging from 1,260 meters to 5,364 meters. It belongs to the world natural heritage-giant panda habitat, a national scenic spot, a national forest park, and an AAAA-level tourist attraction. The highest peak in the scenic area, Daxuetang, is 5,364 meters above sea level. The snow never melts all year round. It is the first peak in Chengdu. The great Tang Dynasty poet Du Fu praised this scene and wrote the eternal "Quatrain" "The window contains the eternal snow of Xiling, and the door is moored with ships from Dongwu". Xiling Snow Mountain got its name from this.
