Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding is a scientific research and breeding base mainly for the protection of giant pandas. It is also a tourist attraction open to the public.
1. Opening hours
The daily opening hours of Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding are 07:30-18:00, and the ticket sales and verification for the day will be stopped at 17:00. The more suitable tourist season is the warm April-October.
2. Ticket purchase guide
All ticket purchasers must book the corresponding tickets online in advance. There is no ticket window offline. Tickets for the past 7 days can be booked (tickets for the 7th day can be booked after 0:00 am every day). Online ticket booking: Tourists can purchase tickets on the five ticketing websites of Meituan, Ctrip, Chengdu Culture and Tourism, Tongcheng, and Lvmama, or search and follow the WeChat public account "Chengdu Panda Base Electronic Ticket". Tourists who need to take the scenic area through bus to visit the panda base can purchase tickets at various "Chengdu Scenic Area Through Bus" service points in Chengdu or search the WeChat applet "Scenic Area Through Bus".
3. Transportation Guide
Metro: Chengdu Metro Line 3, directly to the Giant Panda Base. Take the subway to "Panda Avenue Station" and exit from Exit A, then transfer to Bus 198a/198 to Chengdu Giant Panda Breeding Base. It's only a few stops to the Panda Base.
Bus: Take Bus 87 or Bus 198 to [Panda Base] Station.
4. Tour Route
South Gate - Giant Panda Museum - Adult Giant Panda Villa - Sub-Adult Giant Panda Villa - Giant Panda Sun Delivery Room - Giant Panda Moon Delivery Room - Shengri Pavilion - Rising Sun Pavilion - Yunri Pavilion - Yingri Pavilion - Panda Walking Street - Jiangyue Pavilion - Mingyue Pavilion - Wangyue Pavilion - Qiuyue Pavilion - Shanyue Pavilion - West Gate; from south to west, it takes about 5.5 hours. Route highlights: Passing through the giant panda houses in the Adventure Valley area and the Infinite Hills area, you can take an in-depth tour of the pandas' new home; the seven animal houses in the Adventure Valley area are connected to each other by trestle bridges, and visitors can watch the giant pandas from various perspectives on the undulating trestle bridges, which is a major attraction of the new area; finally, you arrive at the West Gate Observation Deck, which has a wide view and is suitable for checking in and taking photos.
