Main attractions:
1. Baotu Spring
Baotu Spring is one of the three major scenic spots in Jinan. It is located in Lixia District, Jinan City, Shandong Province. It faces Quancheng Square to the east and Five Dragons Pool to the north. It covers an area of 158 acres and ranks first among the 72 famous springs in Jinan. When Emperor Qianlong was on a tour in the south, he named Baotu Spring "the best spring in the world" because the water from Baotu Spring tasted mellow and sweet when brewing tea. It is also the earliest famous spring in Jinan mentioned in ancient documents.
2. Daming Lake
Daming Lake is a lake in Jinan, Shandong Province, and one of the three major historical sites in Jinan. It is located in the north of the old city of Lixia District, Jinan, Shandong Province. It is formed by the confluence of many springs in Jinan. The lake water flows into Xiaoqing River through Luoshui River. The water surface area is 57.7 hectares, and the average water depth is 2~3 meters. Daming Lake has beautiful scenery and clear blue water. It is one of the core components of the National 5A-level tourist attraction - Tianxia Diyiquan Scenic Area.
3. Qianfo Mountain
Qianfo Mountain Scenic Area is located in the south of Jinan Central City and is one of the three major scenic spots in Jinan. It was called Lishan before the Zhou Dynasty. According to legend, Yu Shun once cultivated land at the foot of the mountain, so it was also called Shungeng Mountain. During the Kaihuang period of the Sui Dynasty, many Buddha statues were carved according to the terrain of the mountain, and the "Thousand Buddha Temple" was built, and it was named Qianfo Mountain. The park was built in 1959, listed as a provincial scenic spot in 1995, rated as a national AAAA-level tourist attraction in 2005, and listed as a national scenic spot in 2017.
4. Five Dragons Pool
Five Dragons Pool, also known as Longju Spring and Huiwan Spring, is located in Five Dragons Pool Park. The pond is embanked by natural rocks, 70m long, 35m wide, and more than 6m deep. It is the deepest spring in Jinan. The surface of Five Dragons Pool is wide and clear like a mirror. There are curved railings and painted bridges, pavilions, willows hanging down, green pines and bamboos, and jagged rocks beside the pond. The west and south banks are built with stone strips, and the east and north are natural stone embankments. There are weeping willows planted all around, and there are rockeries in the north of the pond, jagged rocks, and green pines and bamboos.
5. Quancheng Square
Quancheng Square is the central square of Jinan, the capital of Shandong Province, and is located in the bustling area of the center of Jinan. The theme of Quancheng Square is spring culture. There is a huge spring sculpture in the center, which symbolizes the reputation of Jinan as the "City of Springs". Surrounded by many historical buildings and commercial areas, the square is a good place for citizens to relax and have fun. When night falls, the lights on the square are dazzling, becoming a highlight of Jinan's night view.
6. Lingyan Temple
Jinan Lingyan Temple is located in Wande Street, Changqing District, Jinan City, Shandong Province, in the northwest of Mount Tai, and is an important part of the world's natural and cultural heritage Mount Tai. Lingyan Temple was founded in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, with a history of more than 1,600 years. Since the Tang Dynasty, it has been known as the "Four Famous Temples in the World" together with Zhejiang Guoqing Temple, Nanjing Qixia Temple, and Hubei Yuquan Temple, and ranks first.
7. Jiuru Mountain
Jiuru Mountain Scenic Area, a national AAAA-level scenic area and national forest park, is located in Xiying Subdistrict Office, Jinan City, Shandong Province. It is the source of Jinxiuchuan Reservoir, one of the 72 famous springs in the Spring City, and "Jiuru Listening to the Waterfall", one of the new eight scenic spots in the Spring City. The scenic area covers an area of 36 square kilometers and has created the core landscape of "mountains, waterfalls, cascades, streams, and pools", forming a rare and unique large-scale natural ecological landscape in northern China.
8. Furong Street
Furong Street is located in the eastern part of Quancheng Road, Lixia District, Jinan City, Shandong Province. It is an old street and snack street with the characteristics of Jinan, the city of springs. Furong Street is a pedestrian street running from north to south, named after the famous spring on the street - Furong Spring. As the "No. 1 Snack Street in Qilu", Furong Street is not only an old commercial street in Jinan, but also a paradise for food. There are all kinds of snacks here, from traditional Shandong food to modern creative cuisine, and every bite is an ultimate challenge to the taste buds.
9. Wild World Jinan
Wild World Jinan is located in Zhangqiu District, Jinan, about 35 kilometers away from the urban area of Jinan. The park covers an area of about 2,200 mu, and the forest coverage area in the park is as high as 92%. The park is divided into two parts, the north and the south. The north is a walking tour area, and the south is a car tour area. The park features a large-scale wild animal population, integrating animal and plant protection, research, tourism viewing, and popular science education to create a wild animal kingdom with international standards.
10. Shandong Museum
Shandong Museum was established in 1954 and is the first provincial comprehensive geographical museum established after the founding of New China. As a national first-class museum, Shandong Museum is an important base for collecting, researching and displaying Haidai civilization, Qilu culture and Confucian culture. The most distinctive collections are ceramics, bronzes, oracle bones, bamboo slips, stone carvings, Ming Dynasty costumes, and rare ancient books.
