Nanchang City, referred to as Hong or Chang, was called "Yuzhang" in ancient times. It is the capital of Jiangxi Province and a Type I large city. It is an important central city in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River in China, the central city of the Poyang Lake Ecological Economic Zone, and a national historical and cultural city. 1. Pavilion of Prince Teng
Pavilion of Prince Teng, located on Yanjiang Road, Donghu District, Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province, was first built in the fourth year of Tang Yonghui (653 AD) by Li Yuanying, the son of Emperor Gaozu of Tang, when he served as the governor of Hongzhou. It is known as the "No. 1 Tower in Xijiang". Tengwang Pavilion in Nanchang, Jiangxi Province is located at the intersection of Ganjiang River and Fuhe River. It is magnificent and unique, and is known as the "Three Famous Towers in Jiangnan" together with Yellow Crane Tower in Hubei and Yueyang Tower in Hunan.
2. Qiushui Square
Qiushui Square is a landmark attraction in Nanchang, famous for its musical fountains. It has the largest musical fountain group in Asia and is a good place for citizens to relax and have fun. Qiushui Square is located on the bank of Ganjiang River in Honggutan District, Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province, across the river from Tengwang Pavilion. The name comes from the line "Autumn water and the sky are the same color" in "Preface to Tengwang Pavilion".
3. Nanchang August 1st Memorial Hall
The Nanchang August 1st Memorial Hall is a special memorial hall established to commemorate the Nanchang Uprising. It is located at No. 380, Zhongshan Road, Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province, and covers an area of 5,903 square meters. The Nanchang August 1st Memorial Hall was planned and built in 1956, officially opened to the public in 1959, and was announced by the State Council as one of the first batch of national key cultural relics protection units in 1961.
4. Nanchang Star Observation Wheel
Nanchang Star Observation Wheel, also known as Nanchang Star, is the tallest Ferris wheel in China. It is located in Ganjiang Citizen Park on the bank of Ganjiang River in Hongjiaozhou, Honggutan District, Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province. It is 160 meters high, higher than the London Eye in London, England. It was originally the tallest Ferris wheel in the world. Now it is the third tallest Ferris wheel in the world after the High Roller in Las Vegas (167 meters) and the Flyer in Singapore (165 meters). It is a landmark building in Nanchang City.
5. Wanshou Palace
Nanchang Wanshou Palace is located in the Xianghu Scenic Area in the southwest corner of Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province. Wanshou Palace faces south and has buildings such as Zhenjun Hall, Yuhuang Hall, Chenmu Hall, Doumu Hall, and Yuce Pavilion, which are exquisitely carved and painted with the characteristics of the times. The double-eaved hip roof of Zhenjun Hall is tall, spacious, and magnificent. The Jade Emperor Hall is majestic, and the colorful murals give people a sense of floating in the air.
6. Bayi Park
Bayi Park, located in the center of Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province, is a city park with a long history and beautiful scenery. The park is located in the East Lake, bordering Minde Road to the north, Zhongshan Road to the south, and Supu Road to the east, with a superior geographical location. The total area of the park is 23.7 hectares, of which 6.4 hectares are land. The sparkling lake is in contrast to the green trees and flowers around it.
7. Rope Gold Pagoda
Rope Gold Pagoda, located on the east side of Shengjin Pagoda Street, Xihu District, Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province, is an ancient pagoda with a long history and profound cultural heritage. It was first built during the Tianyou period of the Tang Dynasty (904-907) and has undergone many repairs and reconstructions. The existing pagoda was built in the Qing Dynasty. It is simple and beautiful, and is a typical representative of Jiangnan style architecture.
8. Jiangxi Provincial Museum
Jiangxi Provincial Museum was planned and built in 1953. It is the largest comprehensive museum in Jiangxi Province, one of the first national first-class museums, and a new cultural landmark in Jiangxi Province. Jiangxi Provincial Museum brings together precious historical relics and ancient art masterpieces discovered in various parts of Jiangxi Province, and is the museum with the largest collection of cultural relics in the province.
9. The Youmin Temple
The Youmin Temple is located in the north of Bayi Park in Nanchang City, on the east bank of East Lake. It was first built during the Tianjian period of Liang Dynasty in the Southern Dynasties (502-519), and was originally named Shanglan Temple. Because a well next to the temple was plagued by dragons, a large Buddha was built to suppress it, so it was renamed Dafo Temple in the first year of Taiqing (547). During the Kaiyuan period of Tang Dynasty (713-741), it was renamed Kaiyuan Temple. The temple was restored and rebuilt seven times, and was named Youmin Temple in the 18th year of the Republic of China (1929).
10. Anyi Ancient Village
Located in Anyi County, Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province, Anyi Ancient Village is a well-preserved ancient building group of Gan style with a history of more than 1,400 years. The ancient village group consists of three ancient villages, Jingtai, Luotian and Shuinan. The villages are not far from each other and are connected by Changshou Avenue, Qifu Ancient Road and Fenglu Avenue. There are hundreds of ancient residential buildings from the Ming and Qing Dynasties preserved here, which are large in scale, exquisitely carved and rich in cultural connotations.
