The Rope Gold Pagoda was built during the Tianyou period of the Tang Dynasty and is about 58 meters high. According to legend, when the pagoda was built, an "iron letter" was dug underground, which contained four turns of gold rope, three ancient swords, and three hundred relics, so it was called the Golden Rope Pagoda. It was rebuilt during the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty. The tower has seven floors on eight sides, with cornices and corridors on each floor. There are arches on all eight sides, and stairs lead directly to the top floor. The top of the tower is a gilded bronze fire-suppressing tripod.

The Rope Gold Pagoda is located on the east side of Rope Gold Pagoda Street in Xihu District, Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province, outside the Jinxian Gate of the original ancient city. It was first built during the Tianyou period of the Tang Dynasty (904-907 AD). It is said that the only iron letter obtained by digging in the ground before the pagoda was built was discovered by a different monk. One contains four turns of gold rope, three ancient swords (engraved with the words "driving the wind", "suppressing the fire" and "subduing the dragon" respectively), a gold vase containing three hundred relics, and a gold rope pagoda. Hence the name. The Rope Gold Pagoda is simple and beautiful, with the typical artistic style of Jiangnan architecture. It has a history of more than 1,100 years since it was first built in the Tang Dynasty. It is the carrier of historical information and the crystallization of the wisdom of the ancient Han working people. The Rope Gold Pagoda is known as the "water and fire, and it sits in the city of Jiangcheng". It is the treasure of Nanchang people.

Today's Rope Gold Pagoda has a very grand architecture, and the changing lights at night make the tower look beautiful. The Rope Gold Pagoda is now an open public park with a beautiful, clean and tidy environment. The park also has a clear lake, trees, pavilions and other scenery around the lake.
