  Shaanxi History Museum is a national modern large-scale museum. It is a group of magnificent imitation Tang Dynasty buildings, covering an area of about 70,000 square meters and a building area of more than 50,000 square meters. Shaanxi History Museum is the first large national museum in China with modern facilities. It is known as the "Treasure House of China" and the "Magnificent Palace of Chinese Civilization".

  1. Opening hours

  The Shaanxi History Museum is open to visitors from Tuesday to Sunday and closed all day on Monday for renovation (except national statutory holidays). The opening hours in summer (March 15th-November 14th) are 8:30-18:00 (admission stops at 16:30), and the opening hours in winter (November 15th-March 14th of the following year) are 9:00-17:30 (admission stops at 16:00).

  2. Ticket reservation

  The Shaanxi History Museum implements a free but not free ticket system. Basic exhibition tickets can be reserved 3 days in advance (including the day of the reservation), and 7 days in advance on holidays. The museum sells tickets at 10:00, 11:00, 18:00, and 19:00 every day. Visitors can make reservations through the "Shaanxi History Museum" WeChat official account or official mini program.

  3. Transportation Guide

  Shaanxi History Museum is located at No. 91, Xiaozhai East Road, Yanta District, Xi'an. Visitors can take Metro Line 2 or Line 3 to Xiaozhai Station, and walk east along Xiaozhai East Road for 7 to 8 minutes to arrive. You can also take Metro Line 3 or Line 4 to Dayanta Station, and walk west along Xiaozhai East Road for 10 minutes to arrive. In addition, many bus routes such as No. 5, No. 24, and No. 26 also have stops near the museum.

  4. Exhibition Highlights

  Shaanxi History Museum has basic exhibitions, special exhibitions, and temporary exhibitions. Basic exhibitions include "Ancient Shaanxi Civilization" and other special exhibitions, and special exhibitions include "Treasures of the Tang Dynasty - Exhibition of Unearthed Cultural Relics from the Hejiacun Cellar" and "Tang Dynasty Mural Treasures Museum". The museum has more than 370,000 cultural relics, spanning more than one million years.

  5. Notes

  Visitors who have successfully reserved tickets for the basic exhibitions must visit the museum according to the reserved time period and bring the valid documents used when making the reservation. You can directly enter the museum with your ID card and permanent residence permit. If you use other documents, you need to go to the "East ④" comprehensive service window at the south gate of Shaanxi History Museum to exchange for admission vouchers. Children under 1.4 meters or under 6 years old do not need to make an appointment and can enter the museum directly with the adults who have made an appointment.
