  The Museum of Terracotta Warriors and Horses of Emperor Qin Shihuang: World Cultural Heritage,major historical and cultural site protected at national level, national AAAAA level tourist attraction, national first-class museum. The Museum of Terracotta Warriors and Horses of Emperor Qin Shihuang is known as the eighth wonder of the world" and is one of the most important archaeological discoveries in contemporary times.

Museum of Terracotta Warriors and Horses of Emperor Qinshihuang

  The Qin Shihuang Terracotta Warriors and Horses Museum is located in Qinling Town, Lintong District, Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province. It was established in November 1975. It was originally the Qin Shihuang Terracotta Warriors and Horses Preparatory Office. It was officially opened on October 1, 1979. It was built on the site of the Qin Shihuang Terracotta Warriors and Horses Pit at the northern foot of Mount Li, 7.5 kilometers east of Lintong County, 37.5 kilometers west of Xi'an; and Lishan Garden are collectively called the Qin Shihuang Mausoleum Museum.

  1. Venue composition

  The Qin Shihuang Terracotta Warriors and Horses Museum is based on the Qin Shihuang Terracotta Warriors and Horses. It is a site museum built on the original site of the Terracotta Warriors and Horses Pit and is also the largest ancient military museum in China. The Qin Shihuang Terracotta Warriors and Horses Museum has three Terracotta Warriors and Horses Pit, namely, No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3:

  Pit No. 1

  Pit No. 1 is 230 meters long from east to west, 62 meters wide from north to south, 4.5 to 6.5 meters deep from the current surface, and covers an area of ??14,260 square meters. According to the arrangement density of the unearthed pottery figurines and pottery horses in the trial excavation, there are about 6,000 pottery figurines and pottery horses buried in the No. 1 Terracotta Warriors and Horses Pit, as well as a large number of bronze weapons.

  Pit No. 2

  The plane of the No. 2 Terracotta Warriors and Horses Pit is L-shaped, 124 meters long from east to west, 98 meters wide from north to south, 5 meters deep from the current surface, and covers an area of ??about 6,000 square meters. According to the trial excavation, there are more than 1,300 pottery figurines and pottery horses buried in the No. 2 Terracotta Warriors and Horses Pit. The contents of the No. 2 Terracotta Warriors Pit are richer than those of the No. 1 Terracotta Warriors Pit, and the types of soldiers are more complete.

  Pit No. 3

  The scale of the No. 3 Terracotta Warriors Pit is relatively small, and the plane is in the shape of a "concave". There is a sloping doorway on the east side, which is 28.8 meters long from east to west, 24.57 meters wide from north to south, 5.2 to 5.4 meters deep from the current surface, and covers an area of ??520 square meters. There are 72 pottery figurines and pottery horses buried in the pit.

  Excavated Cultural Relics Exhibition Hall (Bronze Chariot and Horse Exhibition Hall)

  There are No. 1 and No. 2 bronze chariots in the exhibition hall. Both of these chariots have single shafts, double wheels, and four horses. Chariot No. 1 has four bronze horses in front, and the plane of the chariot is a horizontal rectangle, with two arc-shaped front corners, 74 cm wide and 48.5 cm deep. The No. 1 bronze chariot of the Qin Mausoleum is a "standing chariot", and the No. 2 bronze chariot of the Qin Mausoleum is a "settled chariot".

  2. Venue Features

  The Qin Shihuang Terracotta Warriors and Horses Museum is located 1.5 kilometers east of the Qin Shihuang Mausoleum in Lintong District, Xi'an. It has a large-scale building and a unique appearance. Trees and flowers are planted in the museum area, which is quiet and elegant. The gate of the scenic area is magnificent, and the north gate and the square are simple and low-key in appearance. The colors are mainly dark gray and light gray. The architectural design and material selection reflect the integration of scientific and technological performance and environmental protection concepts.

  3. Collection of Cultural Relics

  As of January 2020, the Qin Shihuang Terracotta Warriors and Horses Museum has expanded to 46.1 hectares and has more than 50,000 (sets) of collections. The Qin Terracotta Warriors and Horses Museum is mainly visited by the Qin Terracotta Warriors Pit No. 1, 2, and 3 site halls, the circular screen cinema, and the Qin Shihuang Mausoleum Cultural Relics Exhibition Hall. The exhibition area in the museum is about 30,000 square meters. Among them, Pit No. 2 is the essence of the Qin Terracotta Warriors Pit.
