4. Scenic Spot Introduction
Juzizhou is the Juzizhou mentioned in Chairman Mao’s poem “Standing alone in the cold autumn, the Xiangjiang River flows north, standing at the head of Juzizhou, watching the mountains turn red and the forests dyed red”. Facing Yuelu Mountain in the west and Changsha City in the east, it is surrounded by water and stretches for dozens of miles. It is shaped like a long island and is one of the important scenic spots in Changsha.
Juzizhou has both the elegance of village smoke and boats, and the prosperity of Chinese lights; the orange groves are in patches, the scenery is clear and unique; the historical and cultural heritage is long and profound. Juzizhou Scenic Area was once the site of Mao Zedong’s early revolutionary activities.
Orange Island is located between the famous mountains and cities, floating on the waves, and is known as "China's No. 1 Island". The Xiangjiang River flows slowly by it. In spring, there are seagulls on the river; in summer and autumn, the trees are lush; in winter, there is one of the eight scenic spots of Xiaoxiang, "River and Sky Dusk Snow".
Now there is a park on Orange Island, where thousands of orange trees are planted. During the autumn harvest season, the orange trees are full of fruits. At this time, standing on the head of the island and looking at the Chu sky is refreshing. This is also a good place for people to play in the water and swim in summer. There is a natural tourist site on the island.
