Monument to the people's Liberation, formerly known as the Anti-Japanese War Victory Memorial Monument, is the only national monument in China to commemorate the victory of the Chinese nation's war of resistance against Japanese aggression, in order to commemorate Chongqing's great contribution to the country. The Monument to the people's Liberation Monument is located in Yuzhong District, Chongqing, at the intersection of Minquan Road, Minzu Road and Zou Rong Road. It is a historical witness to the victory of the Anti-Japanese War and the liberation of Chongqing. Most of the monument is white, with some parts being flesh-colored. There are several large bells on the top, facing in all directions, and they will ring every hour. The tower is octagonal, with several antennas at the top.
