Dazu Rock Carvings is the general name for all the stone carvings in Dazu District, Chongqing. It is a famous ancient stone carving art in China. Dazu Rock Carvings were first built in the early Tang Dynasty, and went through the late Tang Dynasty and the Five Dynasties. They flourished in the Song Dynasty and continued to the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It lasted for more than a thousand years. It is the last monument in the history of Chinese grotto art and the most glorious and magnificent page in the world's grotto art from the late 9th century to the mid-13th century.

　　April, May, June and September, October and November every year.

　　2. Ticket price

　　Off-season (December 1st to the end of February of the following year): Tourists who visit for free pay a ticket cost of 2 yuan each.

　　Peak season (March 1st to November 30th): Baodingshan Rock Carvings and Beishan Rock Carvings are 120 yuan/person, and if Shengshou Temple is included, it is 140 yuan/person.

　　Special groups such as children, the elderly, students, and soldiers enjoy preferential treatment.

　　4. Transportation

　　To go to Dazu from Chongqing, you can go to Chongqing long-distance bus stations to take a high-speed bus to Dazu County (one bus every 20 minutes), which takes about an hour and a half to reach Dazu, and the fare is about 40 yuan.

　　From Chengdu to Dazu, you can take a direct bus to Dazu at the Lotus Pond Long-distance Bus Station, and the price is about 80-100 yuan.

　　After arriving in Dazu County, take a sightseeing bus to Baoding Mountain Scenic Area and arrive in 20 minutes. After arriving in Dazu, you can choose to walk or take a taxi to Beishan Stone Carvings. The starting price of local taxis is 3 yuan.

　　Recommended route for a one-day tour from Chongqing to Dazu Rock Carvings: Depart at 9:00 am, arrive at Dazu County via the Chengdu-Chongqing Expressway, visit Shuangfo Temple, visit the Baoding Mountain Dafowan Cliff Caves → Thousand-Handed Guanyin, Huayan Three Saints, etc. after lunch, visit Rongda Knife Exhibition Center on the way back in the afternoon, and then return to Chongqing to end the trip.
