Jinfo Mountain is located in the south of Nanchuan City on the southern edge of Chongqing. It is also known as Jinshan Mountain and belongs to the Dalou Mountains. It consists of Jinfo, Baizhi and Qingba Mountains. It has a well-developed water system, well-preserved original vegetation, and obvious karst landform features.
1. Transportation
Take a bus from Chongqing Caiyuanba Station or Chongqing Nanping Bus Station to Nanchuan Bus Station, and transfer to a bus or taxi to Jinfo Mountain. If you drive by yourself, you can start from the main city of Chongqing, pass through Banan Jieshi, G65 Baomao Expressway, Nanwan Expressway, and get to Jinfo Mountain West (turn right after getting off the bus) to reach the west gate of Jinfo Mountain.
2. Ticket price
The adult package of Beipo Scenic Area (ticket + cableway) is 150 yuan; the ticket for students aged 6-18 is 110 yuan; the ticket for seniors aged 60-64 is 110 yuan; the ticket for seniors aged 65 and above is 70 yuan. The adult package of Xipo Scenic Area (ticket + round-trip cableway + bus down the mountain) is 180 yuan; the student ticket for 6-18 years old is 140 yuan; the senior citizen ticket for 60-64 years old is 140 yuan; the senior citizen ticket for 65 years old and above is 100 yuan.
3. Tour route
After entering Xipo Scenic Area, you can choose to walk through the 2.5-kilometer Bitan Valley to reach the lower station of the cableway. After going up the mountain, walk slowly along the Golden Turtle Chaoyang Trail. You can stop and look at the peaks and cliffs along the way, passing by bamboo forests, viewing platforms, etc. It takes about 1.5 hours to reach the visitor center. There is a tour bus at the fork in the road in front of the visitor center that can go directly to the north slope, but it is only available in the peak season. There are small vans operated by locals in the off-season. There are many natural caves on the mountain of the north slope, and the ancient Buddha cave is more famous. There is a 500 Arhat formation on one side of the cave hall. Walk along the Arhat formation to the exit. The entrance of the cave is surrounded by cliffs on three sides and backed by high mountains. When the weather is clear, this is the best place to watch the sea of clouds of Jinfo Mountain. In addition, there is an ecological stone forest on the other side of the ancient plank road. After the tour, take the cable car down the mountain and leave the scenic area from the north gate.
